Gws Mustang IV

well, what happened to mustang III was that there was too much throw of the control surfaces. this causes over control and well it crashed on its maiden. lesson learnt, rather have slightly lesser deflection of control surfaces on maiden aircraft. increase deflection if needed.

now Gws Mustang IV. Record breaking. took me just one day to assemble it to flight condition. made used of the firewall from previous aircraft. and baby helped me painted it using acrylic paint. well after coming back maroochydore, went to play at the field opposite the old seletar market. after the first battery, it went well except that i find it flying slightly fast. and then the "one more flight" mentally kicks in. on the second battery, flew the aircraft into a tree which was on the opposite side of the field. the tree was actually sticking out of no where... oh well... recover all the electronics and started building my next aircraft - Zero Fighter!

Gws Mustang II

decided to build a custom made firewall instead of the stick which is used to mount the motor which i feel is flimsy. take note that the epoxy glue dries very fast, thus do not waste time applying too much or else the glue will dry without the firewall in place. luckily the firewall offset the motor to the right.
the vertical and horizontal stabiliser are 90 degree to one another and the wing are also inline with the horizontal stabiliser.
the built was more precise with the aileron. rudder was slightly to the left, due to the push rod not bend at the correct place, however problem rectified using trim on the controller. elevator was slightly off between the left and the right due to the hole drill not align, but rectified by just bending the rod.
with the use of dremel tools, more precise holes can be drilled. the firewall can also be easily sand down to a precise fit.
maiden the plane with dad. flew really well and fast. need some down trim and left trim. other than that, able to fly 10mins+ with a 1800mAh 3S1P lipo. CG is at the tip of the wheel well nearer the bamboo stick.

Gws Mustang...

maiden it myself. first hand launched low wing aircraft. second time i flew it, mid-air collision with another aircraft. mine disintegrated in the sky probably due it made of foam. hm... anyway, time to build another warbird... oh ya, find that it flew too slowly. going to make another faster aircraft.

ST Model Cessna 182

Totally love this trainer. rolls and loops are easy to execute. but sold it off for $60. Need cash for another plane. could be hand launch, but require runway to land. thus not very convient. hit a jogger before. heh...
